Ann Wolman, LAc

Ann is a veteran practitioner of Chinese medicine with 25 years of experience in the field. She is passionate about all aspects of the medicine but has been particularly drawn to herbal medicine and its history. From that perspective, she has woven together a unique view of the impact of development and history of herbal medicine and how that impacts modern day practice.

As a professor, she has focused her teaching on herbal medicine and is currently the lead faculty for the Daoist Traditions' Certificate in Chinese Herbal Medicine.

This course introduces Classical, pre-modern and TCM perspectives on Chinese herbs and formulas. You will explore how to view single herbs from a classical perspective. Next we will investigate the origins of classical formulas to understand the most important developments in Chinese herbal medical history. We will evaluate how the qi of herbs and the historical context of their use relate to classical, pre-modern and TCM treatment strategies. Finally, we use that understanding to refine our modern diagnostic and treatment approaches.
